Also, it is important to know exactly what service you're getting.  Some of these companies will not cosign your lease with you, but they will find potential cosigners and leave it at that.  Review the company's process.  You don't want to pay your fee to a company to find you a potential cosigner and they just do a quick Google search for your relatives.  If possible, look for more local cosigning companies in your area before looking for the bigger companies.  Stay informed of the risks of cosigning companies, do your research on the company you choose, and make sure that you have all the information you need before you make your decision.  However, when you find the right cosigning company, they can be a huge help to you renting with bad credit.
